Oh. My. Stars.
It has been one of those months. The kind that zips by and leaves you wondering where it went. One minute I was looking at August 1st, the next, August 31st. And I'm exhausted. I've written one and half books this month, edited the one coming in September, and had to car shop. Did you know car shopping stinks? Cause it does, especially when you have no idea what you want. I'm trying to be frugal and buy used. A good used car is even harder to find. And then on top of looking for car, I'm trying to carve out time to finish this fake marriage series. I think I have the rest of it mapped out. There might even be a Beauty and the Beast retelling.

Have you been watching this earthquake stuff? Man, that deep earthquake seems to have shaken things up. I've been watching this YouTube channel called Dutchsinse, and this guy can predict earthquakes. It's been so interesting watching how plates rubbing together on one side of the world affect the plates on the other.
I've always been fascinated by this kind of stuff though. Shows about tsunamis, tornados, hurricanes...all that stuff interests me. Not because of doom and gloom, just how our world works. How one action can affect another. Kinda like how the tide and moon work together. I'm so excited! I got a new couch and loveseat. Well, new to me. My old couch was twelve years old and it'd been years since I had matching furniture.
My youngest daughter, though, wasn't nearly as excited. There were tears as the old couch went out the front door and they continued for a while after. That couch was older than her, and to her it was like losing a friend. Needless to say, we had a talk and she's fine now, but the new couch isn't as comfortable as the old one and the old one was just wonderful, despite the tears, peeling, cat scratches, and broken bits. I must admit there's a tinge sadness at seeing it go, but as I sit on the new couch and the reclining feature works, the sadness doesn't last long. |
