Mending the Billionaire Movie Star
MacLachlan Brothers Romance, #1
Heya everyone,
It's cold and wet here in Lubbock, Texas. Well, cold for normal people. I think we've established that I'm not exactly normal. I'm thrilled we got rain because we needed it. The little pond at the end of my road was looking a little parched.
This is the start of a new Good Grief, Bree. This one is a little different.
Mending the Billionaire Movie Star is the longest book I've written. It's also one of two books that was with my agent when I had one. At the time it was being shopped, it was titled Love in Reality. I had several full-book asks for it, but each time it was ultimately rejected.
Why?
I'm guessing it's my hang-up about bachelor shows. I'm not judging anyone. AT ALL. People can like what they want, however, these shows drive me batty.
How can someone tell another someone that they have feelings for them and then kiss and smooch someone else? It bugs me, and I have trouble writing it.
So, it didn't follow the typical pattern. Gunner had the same premise, and I couldn't do it in that book either.
I'll apologize for that.
With that being said, I LOVE THIS BOOK. This is another that I've read over two dozen times. I love Angus (MacGyver's first name because I love that show.) I love Penny. I love their banter, their flirting, and the way they fall in love. I love them. It may not be one of the best books that I've written (I'm told that honor goes to Broken Like Glass.) But I put this one in my top five of my favorites.
It was my first time writing a little suspense as well because there's a bad guy who is revealed at the end.
This was the first time I had a story continue as well since Angus and Penny get married in the next book, which is Paige's story. She's Penny's twin sister and the reason Penny is stuck doing the show.
A side note: I wrote this series right before I wrote Her Pretend Billionaire Boyfriend. I wrote the third book and finished it just a few days before starting Her Pretend. I had scenes in that book playing in my head while I wrote the third Mending book. I forced myself to finish this series so that I could move on to the next book.
Anyway, that's the story behind this book. I've set it free for five days. Reminder, Amazon sets the time, so hopefully when you get this newsletter, it'll be free. If it isn't, keep checking.
