Mending the Billionaire Scotsman
MacLachlan Brothers Romance, #2
Well, Happy New Year's Eve, Eve, Eve, Eve everyone!
Yeah, I laughed. Only child joke right there.
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas. It was relaxed and peaceful here, which was super nice.
Last newsletter email of the year with the last Good Grief, Bree and free book of the year too.
Mending the Billionaire Scotsman was an interesting book to write. Again, it's been a while so I don't remember the negative comments, but I do remember people being ticked about Penelope's twin sister, Paige.
The girl was a pill and a half, and I wanted a redemption story for her. My theme of forgiving and letting go of the past runs pretty strong in this book.
Rory (I love that name—Dr. Who anyone?) thought he'd found the woman he'd spend the rest of his life with and lost her. Paige was scorned by a con man who left on her wedding day after stealing her inheritance.
Both were brokenhearted, but Paige's went a little deeper. She had some family issues she needed to deal with, and that finally came to a head in this book. There was mending of relationships and hearts. I really loved writing this book and I've read it, not as many times as the first book, but a ton because I love it so much.
I love the spark that's evident right off the bat when Rory and Paige meet. I love their banter. I love her sarcasm. His jovial nature. I love how their relationship develops and grows. I love how they bring out the best in each other.
Overall, I loved it. Writing it. The story. All of it.
I hope you do too. It'll be free today through Monday.
Side note: I'll be sending out a Happy New Year with a free book too, but not the typical free romance book, so be on the lookout for that on Monday!
Okay, I'm sure you all are busy and making plans for the New Year. I think this year we're visiting with some friends and doing communion to ring in the new year.
You all have a great weekend, and I'll see you next year!
XOXOXO,
Bree
