Mending the Billionaire Brother
MacLachlan Brothers Romance, #3
When I wrote the first book with Angus's story, I went in planning to write a three book series. My plan was to shop it to publishers and they typically like to see more than one book in the pipeline. I'd already written the second by the time my agent picked the first one up. The third was a little harder.
Part of that challenge was not thinking about Her Pretend Billionaire Boyfriend (which I would write after this one.) I was ready to move to the next book, and so keeping the focus on this one was hard.
I wanted a redemption arc for Tanner after his behavior in the second book. At the time I started writing it, I had no idea where Sarah would go. I did like the way she wouldn't take any lip from Tanner while she was in Scotland with Paige. (Trying not to give spoilers in case someone hasn't read the first two books.)
For Tanner, I felt he needed to be forced away from his family's farm. I also wanted him to go to Sarah. I felt like it would mean more to her. She knew how much his family's farm meant to him and for him to leave to check on her, it was big deal.
Sarah returning to Scotland for Tanner showed how much she cared about him too. He felt invisible for the most part, and to me, that sort of reinforced that he was seen. Plus, my plan was to keep Penelope, Paige, and Sarah together. They'd grown up together and I liked that bond they had.
Overall, I loved the story and I loved writing it.
